Super Cute Box - September Box

Having taken a break, I used a promo code to get 30% off a one-off box from Super Cute Box. These boxes are always filled with many kawaii things and easy delivery (no need to sign or wait for the postman, it just simply drops through your letterbox!). The only difference is that this box doesn't contain the bracelet charm.

As always, when you open the box you are greeted with a photocard featuring this month's bracelet charm. This one is bacon and eggs, and I am sad that because it is a one-off box, I won't be receiving this one!

So this month's box features...
  • Panda Eye Mask - I have been wanting an eye mask for better sleep for a long time, so my prayers have been answered! Plus, it is a panda mask, which is a bonus.
  • Cute Cake Erasers - these look too delicious to eat!
  • Fruit headphone plug - useful for protecting your smartphone from dust. I received the orange edition. This item I wasn't a big fan of; it looks very small and easy to break.
  • Unicorn earrings from innabox - these are quite quirky, I am interested to see the rest of their collection
  • Hello Kitty pen - well, who doesn't love Hello Kitty?
  • Bird Peg - this has many uses - crafts, fashion, paperclip...functional as well as stylish
  • Macaroon - at first I thought it was a charm or decorative object but when I shook it, something rattled inside. Curious, I pulled apart the two sides and it revealed a purple origami star and a gold "love" necklace. This was a lovely surprise!

I have missed receiving these boxes and this one-off box is just a reminder of why! I have placed an order for a three month subscription, and I cannot wait!

Edinburgh - National Museum of Scotland

The National Museum of Scotland is a vast building filled with exhibitions and displays covering nature, history, art, literature and science. There are also sections dedicated to Scottish history and culture. There is so much to see, I could possibly see one spending the entire day here! Another bonus is that it is free admittance. We were only here for a few hours, so unfortunately we didn’t get to see everything. My particular favourites were seeing the displays on different world cultures, natural history and the environment and the pivotal role Scotland has played in popular culture and art through the ages.

Hey Pikachu!

On the back of Pokemon Go, there seems to be an increase of Pokemon merchandise everywhere. I got this Pikachu portable phone charger from Currys at £17.99, perfect for on the go (and playing Pokemon Go!)  Pokemon XYZ has just ended in Japan, and it is a fantastic ending (I won't give it away!) - the last few episodes are especially emotional and a great end to what has been an action packed season! A lot of people say it is the greatest season since Indigo League! The Sun and Moon anime trailers has been appearing online, and it seems like a big backward step in terms of the storytelling. A lot of people have mocked the animation style, in particular, Ash's design. Time will tell if the anime can gain as much fans as XY/XYZ...

Bideford Christmas Lights Switch On 2016

On Sunday December 4th, Bideford Quayside was closed for the Christmas Lights Switch On event. Due to work, I wasn’t able to see the lights switch on, but I visited the fair beforehand. It was very cold but that didn’t stop the many visitors from getting into the Christmas spirit! There was an opportunity to have a “steam train” ride around the town and free reindeer antlers and Santa hats were being given away for free! There were lots of rides, hot food stalls and games. We won a teddy! There was also live music playing from the stage. Well known characters, including Batman, Peppa Pig and one crazy looking Pikachu walked around greeting everyone. It wouldn’t be Christmas without a few reindeers! They attracted a big crowd and mostly did some eating. The event closed with some spectacular fireworks from the riverside.
