Welcome To Kawaii Box - July Edition

This is the first Kawaii Box I have received. Although it is for July, I just received it today. The box was slightly damaged but the contents were fine. I have opted for a three month subscription, making the boxes cost about £12 per month.

  1. DIY Candy Bracelet – this looks quite good, I can’t wait to try it!
  2. Squishy doughnut mirror – so cute…I want to eat it, and squish it, and look at my hair!

3. Korean Glitter Glue set – quite a big set, which I was surprised at. It is making me want to be more creative.
4. Caramel Popcorn pencil set – cute!!!
5. Rilakkuma note set – I love this bear! This folds out giving you an assortment of sticky notes and paper to write on. I like the head shaped ones!

6. Happy Alpaca keychain – I want to put this on my keys.
7. Mushroom plush charm – or I want to put this one on my keys…I can’t decide!
8. Flake Seal Stickers – pretty stickers, and there are quite a few in the box!

9. Link Toast Coaster – looking at this makes me smile
10. Pastel Pearl bracelet – I like the colours, and it is elastic rather than chain, so it will fit my (small) wrist well.
11. Cake eraser – too pretty to use!
When I opened this box, it made me very happy. There is so much included in this box, and I really love the items (some subscription boxes can be mixed). This is similar to Super Cute Box but this one is slightly cheaper. The only problem is the waiting – I subscribed in mid July and received the box near the end of August. These boxes do ship from abroad which can account for some of the wait. Overall, I do like this box and I am looking forward to next month’s!

Edinburgh - National Museum of Scotland

The National Museum of Scotland is a vast building filled with exhibitions and displays covering nature, history, art, literature and science. There are also sections dedicated to Scottish history and culture. There is so much to see, I could possibly see one spending the entire day here! Another bonus is that it is free admittance. We were only here for a few hours, so unfortunately we didn’t get to see everything. My particular favourites were seeing the displays on different world cultures, natural history and the environment and the pivotal role Scotland has played in popular culture and art through the ages.

Hey Pikachu!

On the back of Pokemon Go, there seems to be an increase of Pokemon merchandise everywhere. I got this Pikachu portable phone charger from Currys at £17.99, perfect for on the go (and playing Pokemon Go!)  Pokemon XYZ has just ended in Japan, and it is a fantastic ending (I won't give it away!) - the last few episodes are especially emotional and a great end to what has been an action packed season! A lot of people say it is the greatest season since Indigo League! The Sun and Moon anime trailers has been appearing online, and it seems like a big backward step in terms of the storytelling. A lot of people have mocked the animation style, in particular, Ash's design. Time will tell if the anime can gain as much fans as XY/XYZ...

Bideford Christmas Lights Switch On 2016

On Sunday December 4th, Bideford Quayside was closed for the Christmas Lights Switch On event. Due to work, I wasn’t able to see the lights switch on, but I visited the fair beforehand. It was very cold but that didn’t stop the many visitors from getting into the Christmas spirit! There was an opportunity to have a “steam train” ride around the town and free reindeer antlers and Santa hats were being given away for free! There were lots of rides, hot food stalls and games. We won a teddy! There was also live music playing from the stage. Well known characters, including Batman, Peppa Pig and one crazy looking Pikachu walked around greeting everyone. It wouldn’t be Christmas without a few reindeers! They attracted a big crowd and mostly did some eating. The event closed with some spectacular fireworks from the riverside.
